I updated every single page on this site tonight (that is, the
night of May 26, since it just turned midnight), but you
shouldn't notice anything different. If you do,
please let me know.
(For those of you who care, I have been reading standards
again, and decided that all of my HTML pages required a
DOCTYPE.)
Hey! Did anyone else notice that this web site has been
informing and entertaining the world for over a year
now? Where are my birthday presents, like that O1/W,
hmmmm?

Please take 10 - 15 minutes to read
a recent speech by Alan Keyes, and then let me know why you do
not support him, why so many people in this country do not
support him. Am I crazy, or what?

Hey! Microsoft did something right! The problem
with the background image not showing up under Internet
Explorer was because Netscape did not support the CSS
correctly, and IE did. I was using Netscape for testing,
and did not notice that I missed a line in the specification
which meant that what I did was wrong. Had I been using
IE, I would have noticed, read more carefully, and fixed my
problem sooner. Doesn't seem possible, does it?
And what's worse, is that Netscape does not support the
correct way to do it. Fortunately, they both support an
incorrect way to do it, so I am doing that now. Maybe
some company with monopoly power in the software industry
could force enforcement of the standards completely.
Of course, that could never be Microsoft; they only believe in
their own standards, and always change the standard standards.
Oh, well.
And Microsoft also supports the incremental loading of the
table that I added to the Other Web
Sites page, which Netscape doesn't. Am I going to
have to change my favorite browser now?

Happy Birthday to two of my favorite people in the world.
Interesting. Someone contacted our site from the Royal
University College of Music in Stockholm. I wonder how many of
these interesting hosts are real, or just people bouncing their
Internet access through random hosts to keep themselves
annonymous.
Now that I am sometimes using (DON'T SAY IT!) Microsoft
Internet Explorer, I will fix the problem it has with the
background image.
