I think Gerald must be Very Very Smart too, since he knew that I need
a haircut!
I have to credit David for telling me about Gerald's site. Thank you,
David. Those last lyrics were great, by the way. I'm still depressed.
Have you been studying my life, or am I just coincidentally on my way
to the Crack of Doom also?
July 28, 1999 - Morning session
Hey! It wasn't my fault! I tried to update the site yesterday,
but the FTP wasn't working. I think they do administrative stuff early
Tuesday mornings.
There was a lunar eclipse on my way home from work this morning. It
caught me by surprise. It must mean the end of the world.
Sorry I was late updating the date. I was too tired last night to do
it before I went to bed. If only there was some way to program it to
update itself. Hmmmmm.... Does anyone know any computer programmers?
OK. I'll put a direct link to Mark's
Brew Notes, too. You could get there from the Recipator, but why
click twice when you can just click once?
July 16, 1999 - Morning session
Renamed a music group and a file. (It is left as an exercise for the
reader to figure out which one.)
I would just like to mention, in case anyone is unaware, that Microsoft
Windows is not a very good operating system, and Linux is much more
stable and much, much more complete. And you can get free software for
it, since the operating system itself is free. For example, I
recently downloaded WordPerfect 8 for Linux from Corel, absolutely free
for personal use. And I didn't have to reboot the operating system
ten times while installing it. Wow! What a difference! ;-)
Not that Linux is perfect, mind you. I can still crash it if I try to
play Quake while backing up my hard drives (at least that was true with
my old system. It may have been fixed. More on this later...), but it
is so much more stable, configurable, complete and fun than Windows
that I am tempted to delete Windows from my system altogether. If only
Play made Linux versions of their
great software!
Those last two entries, like this one, really belong in a Riso's Rant.
Remind Tom when you see him.
IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD! EXCITE.COM JUST TOLD ME THAT IT WILL BE
ALMOST 15 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT HOTTER IN ITHACA THAN IN SACRAMENTO
TOMORROW! THIS IS MORE SHOCKING THAN SOME OTHER WELL-KNOWN PLACE
FREEZING OVER (which it did. I have the Eagles album to prove it!)
By the way, this page is getting too big. I will consolidate it into
separate pages by month one of these days. Remind Tom when you see him.
I also added a new recipe. Well, kind of.
It's just a relatively blank page that already existed, I just put a new
link to it. Wow! A new link to an almost blank page! That's worth
staying up until 6 am!
OK. I added a real recipe, too. (Where
does all this guilt come from, and why is it such a great motivator?)
This is our first Guest Recipe, and comes courtesy of the
Food Network. I don't know why
Emeril claims to be from New Orleans. We all know he is a New Yorker.
And, now that there is a precedent for Guest Recipes (9/10 of the law
is precedent, right? Oh, 9/10 of the law is possession. Hmmm. We'd
better consult Art Bell (who
is a paranormal-reporter-entertainer), rather than my brother Dave
(who is a lawyer). (I could have sworn precedents had something to do
with law. Oh, well. I haven't been the same since I haven't had a
haircut.)) please e-mail me with
any recipes you would like to unleash upon an unsuspecting e-public.
Or e-mail me with a list of recipes you've given us that you'd rather
not be unleashed upon an unsuspecting e-public (possession is 9/10 of
the law, after all. Hey! Now I get it!)
Most of the rewriting is done. If you have any problems, let me know.
Oh, don't bother telling me that the .wav and .exe files are not found.
Those are big and take a while to upload, so I will do that some time
when it is not 4 in the morning.
July 7, 1999 - Morning session
I can update the site today! I had problems this past weekend, and
early this week, even seeing this site. I think the problem was on
XOOM's end, but I'm not sure.
Things are really messed up now. Don't worry. I'll clean all this
up soon. Good luck successfully navigating the site for the next
few days!
July 6, 1999 - Morning session
More rewriting. This time I will probably put some up here and break
everything. Oh, well.
July 5, 1999 - Morning session
I added a new game for What's In Traci's
Garden?, the hottest Internet pasttime since, well, something that
happened earlier but wasn't as good!
I also got the OK from Jennifer to put a picture she drew on
Anna's Page, which is good since I put the
picture up yesterday!
July 2, 1999 - Morning session
I am rewriting and renaming everything, so everything is probably
broken. I will fix it all soon, I promise, but it is after 4 am, and
I'd like to get some sleep.
